Chocolate Babka with a Kick!

By Chanie of Busy in Brooklyn

Chocolate babka is an iconic Jewish food loved universally. Fresh yeast dough with chocolate oozing out, sweet crumb topping and drizzled with chocolate. Use Mocafe Mexican spiced ground chocolate in place of cocoa for a rich chocolate babka!

You can use your favorite challah dough or sweet yeast dough recipe for this.

½ cup MOCAFE cocoa
½ cup sugar
melted chocolate
½ cup oil (as needed)
1 cup powdered sugar (as needed)

Mix ingredients for filling together. Add more powdered sugar as necessary. Spread filling on dough that has been rolled out into rectangular shape. Make sure dough is completely covered. Save some chocolate filling for drizzle on top. Roll up dough lengthwise until one long strand. Take a knife and make a slit lengthwise in the dough. Fold the dough in half and twist the two strands together. Place in a loaf pan. Let rise for ½ hour.

Crumb Topping
½ stick margarine (can use 1/3-½ cup oil)
½ cups sugar
½ cups flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine crumb topping until crumbly. Sprinkle over babka.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven. Check after ½ hour. If needs more time, bake for additional 15 minutes. Cool on a cooling rack. Drizzle remaining filling on top of cooling babka. Enjoy with a cup of coffee infused with MOCAFE chocolate!
